Strategic design and research agency Valsplat acquires Braingineers

Braingineers analyses unconscious behaviour and emotions when using digital products. The team of psychologists and UX experts does this using neuromarketing technology such as eye-tracking, EEG measurements and other behavioural data. With this acquisition, Valsplat is strengthening its role as a specialist in UX Research. Clients now benefit from the latest techniques and insights from neuroscience research, and receive a comprehensive service: from needs analysis and UX research to conversion optimisation.

Acquisition takes UX Research to a new level

UX research focuses on understanding consumer behaviour and customer experiences with digital media. In addition to the usual analysis of viewing and clicking behaviour, Braingineers incorporates neurodata from EEG measurements into its UX research. Using proprietary AI models, the collected data is analysed and translated into insights regarding end-users’ subconscious and emotional experiences. This provides an even deeper understanding of how these digital products and services can be further improved, making them even more intuitive and user-friendly.

Braingineers’ neurolab is moving to Happy Labs, Valsplat’s research facility in Amsterdam. This will make neuromarketing research more accessible than ever. Soon, organisations will also be able to conduct their own Neuro UX Research at Happy Labs.

This acquisition will enable us to gain a deeper understanding of people’s behaviour and needs, and to offer greater value to our customers.

More humanity in the digital world

We are delighted that Braingineers is joining our team,” says Nils van den Broek (co-founder of Valsplat). This acquisition will enable us to further deepen our research into people’s behaviour and needs and offer greater value to our clients. It aligns with Valsplat’s mission to make the digital world more human. We are working on digital solutions that are accessible to everyone and are perfectly tailored to the needs of the target audience. By combining UX research and neuroscience, we are able to understand the user experience on a whole new level.”

We’re absolutely thrilled to join Valsplat and expand the use of smart technology together.

Expertise under one roof

The combined organisation will soon have almost 60 employees, spread across offices in Amsterdam and Nieuwersluis. We’re absolutely thrilled to join Valsplat,” says Max van Kaathoven (founder of Braingineers). Valsplat is a well-established name and we hit it off straight away. What’s more, we’d already crossed paths with them at clients such as Albert Heijn, Odido and Achmea. Together, we can support our clients even better – from needs analysis and product and service design right through to conversion optimisation. I’m looking forward to applying smart technology even more widely in the research we carry out together.”
